Armed with a long term vision for a premiere downtown music venue, New Mountain Asheville partnered with Sparc to strategize an approach that would reflect both their mission and goals.  The project began with a rigorous investigation of material and spatial qualities the event space would need to exhibit.  We also outlined a phased approach to better reflect their business model and financial campaign.

Visitor flow was an important aspect of the project, with three interior event spaces existing and two new exterior stages proposed.

In this first phase, the focus was to create an outdoor event space that fostered a family/community atmosphere while providing much needed access control and security.  A new biergarden was added to service the outside only while providing dedicated bathroom facilities to event attendees.  Adjacent to the Bier Garden is an expansive deck offering accessibility and visual access to the event stages.  New gravel and grass surface was provided in place of the aging asphalt.
